We're a cosy, friendly place you can come and have an easy-drinking, relaxing glass of your favourite from our house wine list while you settle down with a book and watch the world go by - or you can try a glass of some incredible fine wines, chat to friends and family, or sit at the bar and chat to us (it's like free therapy!)

Our friendly, approachable staff will be delighted to recommend something for you if you don't know where to start, or if you've got an old favourite just ask.

Whether you're looking for a glass of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, a Mendoza Malbec or a Mourvèdre from Montélimar, we've got you covered with over 100 wines to choose from and most available by the glass.

We use the Coravin system for most of our wines, which means we're able to offer just about everything by the glass - including some great sparklings, sherries and ports.

We love the Australian bar custom of offering free hot & cold soft drinks to 'the deso', and are pleased to do the same here. If you're in a group of 2 or more and you're the designated driver, your soft drinks are on us.

Want to buy from a local shop but can't make it before they close? Have them drop it with us. We'll keep it safe (and in the fridge if needed) and you can collect while we're open (and stay for a drink if you like!)

Want to learn more about wine?

Wine, more than perhaps any other food or drink, reflects the geography, the weather and the people it comes from. Wine courses and tastings aren't about telling you what to like or not like - we've all got individual palates, we all like different things and a wine can be exceptional and still not to your taste. But by understanding how to describe what you like and by understanding what makes it taste the way you love, you can learn to more reliably pick things you enjoy.

Wine flights

We use the Coravin™ system to enable us to pour wines by the glass without opening the bottle (it's really clever!), which means we're able to offer a fantastic range of wines by the glass that would otherwise not be possible.

Why not try one of our flights organised around grapes or geography, and try something new to tickle your taste buds?

Courses and tutorials

We offer short courses, guided tastings and full qualification courses. Our monthly themes are a great way to get a feel for what 'wine knowledge' sessions look like without having to sign up or commit - and there's no homework other than drinking wine!

Nestled in the picturesque Holme Valley, Honley Wine Bar offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for wine enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. We don't serve food (other than small snacks) but there's a collection of restaurants in the village who will be only too happy to feed you.

Clean and well behaved dogs are welcome.

Under 18's must vacate the premises by 8pm.
